Sew-Ciety Quilt Challenges
For the past several years we have issued a challenge to our members to create quilts using specific rules. They have been associated with our bi-annual quilt shows and as our topic for a meeting.
The 2016 Cherrywood Fabric challenge with the theme of the Lion King is complete. The winners and pictures of the travelling show can be found on Facebook. Here are two pictures of the entries from two of our talented and creative members, Fay Leighton and Scarlett Rose. Enjoy

Leslie Mastalarz and Carolee Underwood presented the McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park quilt from the Quilters' Sew-Ciety of Redding 2014 quilt challenge to the Park on March 21 at the meeting of the McArthur-Burney Falls Interpretive Association. The quilt will go on permanent display in the Interpretive Center, very likely when the Park opens for the season, after a boxed frame and suitable signage have been made. Carolee and Leslie report that everyone from both the ranger staff and the association were very excited about the quilt. Pictured are Ranger Supervisor Brett Mizuer, Carolee Underwood, Leslie Mastalarz Ranger Dan Toth.

Video link that was made by The Quilt Life founders Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims and posted to their website, and features the 2012 River of Quilts Challenge by the Quilters' Sew-ciety of Redding depicting 25 quilts of the Sacramento River. The quilts were hung in a staggered manner next to each other lining up the river, so that the river flowed through the 50 feet of the exhibit. This exhibit travelled and was exhibited for 18 months.
